Introduction:
With graffiti inspired work becoming popular, Human 5 is a group that has distinguished
themselves from all other urban artists. With the use of organic shapes and colors, they
create pieces that are comical and awe-inspiring. They have taken street art and pushed it
further by layering 2D characters with various off beat objects and vigorous colors. Their
idea of enhancement of the outdoors includes various murals and installation. Human 5 takes
what is in the cityscape and works with it, creating their own interpretation on the environment.
History:
Human 5 is a team of three artists that are known for working strongly together or as
individuals. Mike Swaney, Simon Redekop and Jaret Penner met while in art school in Vancouver.
They all had a strong appreciation for street art and wanted to blend their passion for art
towards a profession. The trio’s productions have included, but are not limited to:
illustration, design, handcrafted clothing, street and gallery installations.
Achievements:
Modart in San Diego, CA
Capita Snowboards
Various trade show displays
Exhibitions in Japan, Costa Rica and other cities across the nation.
